Bio
D.S. Lenger or Dianne Lenger is a mental health worker and author. Her debut psychological thriller, The Program calls for a rally to the underdog when a boy on the cusp of adulthood makes a mistake that takes him from his usual comfort of friends and family to fighting for his freedom and his life.
Dianne grew up in Penrith NSW Australia. The youngest of two children. Born with a heart defect, she was no stranger to adversity. At four and a half she had her first open heart surgery at Camperdown Children’s Hospital in Sydney, NSW Australia. Later surviving a heart attack, another three surgeries and a stroke in 2018, from which she made a full recovery. Dianne credits the medical profession and the support of her loving family for why she is still here today. Dianne has struggled with her own mental health over the years and holds onto her faith and love of life when times are difficult. She believes in the power of positive thinking and the will to keep trying.
For over 25 years she has worked in caring roles including, mental health and in a youth drug and alcohol rehabilitation center - where she got the original idea for the setting of her psychological thriller THE PROGRAM, These roles gave her the opportunity to witness the human spirit of people from all walks of life and many situations. She saw the frailty and the strength in trauma and recovery that continues to inspire her own journey.
Dianne now lives in the sleepy country suburb of Crookwell in Australia. When she’s not plotting twists and turns for her characters to weigh through, she enjoys participating in local writing groups, book clubs, but most of all, spending time with her family.
